Precautions for using hard alloy wire drawing molds

The heat-treated parts have been transferred to cold drawing and atmospheric pressure production and processing, using hard alloy wire drawing molds. At present, the formation of complex and difficult to process materials is usually through heat treatment. However, heat treated products have a series of problems such as removing the oxide layer, processing accuracy, and the construction environment is very poor. Due to various problems, the post-treatment process requires a long time. Even if the process flow is improved, in the future, there will still be a migration of cold drawing and atmospheric pressure production processes with fewer post-processing processes and less damage to raw materials.

The hard alloy wire drawing die (tungsten steel material die) uses high-quality hard alloy as the die core, which has high hardness, good heat transfer, and low friction resistance. The distinctive features of this new product are the simple production, corrosion resistance, strong impact resistance, and excellent quality and low cost of hard alloy wire drawing molds. They are suitable for the drawing of light metal and large-sized cables, as well as applications in places with relatively poor metal wire drawing standards.

During the use of hard alloy wire drawing molds, five common issues need to be noted: equipment selection, preparation of cable raw materials, selection of suitable lubricants, error handling, and regular replacement;

1. Equipment selection: Based on the materials and drawing equipment that need to be pulled, the compression coefficient of each drawing die is effectively prepared, thus clarifying the perspective of the working area of each drawing die.

2. Preparation of metal wire drawing raw materials, such as cleaning, rust prevention, quenching, phosphating, etc., to ensure the cleanliness of the raw materials.

3. Drawing powder, oil selection: Select high-quality and suitable drawing powder (lubricant, oil), and do a good job in the refrigeration operation of the drawing die.

4. Proper handling of abnormalities in the mold: If there are dry cracks, exploding molds, surface bubbles, scratches, shrinkage, broken belts, high temperatures, blackening of molds, and poor wear resistance during metal wire drawing, please contact professional technicians as soon as possible.

5. Regular replacement of hard alloy wire drawing molds: When the wire drawing mold reaches its service life, replace it as soon as possible and carry out mold repair to prevent damage to the metal wire drawing raw materials caused by the application of the connecting wire drawing mold.
